Self Improvement and Motivation In Your Career
Just look around you, it’s a beautiful world out there. Life is wonderful provided you have the time and can afford to sit back and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. This is a feeling that hits us every now and then. And then when we realize that we have to be confined within the walls of an office, doing work that has no scope for imagination, we end up depressed. Every job loses its charm after some time if nothing is done to keep the job interesting. To make things worse, there are too many distractions around us. We end up thinking , “this is not the job that I wanted to be doing”. And when we realize that we will be doing this same job probably till the end of our employment days, we will want to scream. However, there is a correlation between self improvement and motivation in your career.
How to take advantage of this to increase your career motivation? It is a human tendency to get bored after time, with something whether it’s in a career, relationship or something else. When we start a new job or career, for the first couple of weeks we are like the peasant boy who walked into a new palace. Every thing in the job or career is new and interesting and our interest is completely captured. We try to learn things as quickly as possible in the job and are eager to impress and prove to the world and ourselves that we are perfect for the job or career. But after a few months we get used to everything and slowly the job or career begins to lose it’s charm.
We get bored with our work and start looking for greener pastures. It is at this stage in our job or career that procrastination starts raising its ugly head. If the tasks that we are doing are repetitive ad monotonous, the picture becomes bleaker. Along with this, if the job requires that we remain on our toes all day long, then the future is sealed. It is in such situations that we need to keep ourselves motivated in our job or career.
Speaking from a job organization behavioral point of view let us take a look at what motivation is all about and how to improve it. The human brain as I mentioned earlier is a virtual warehouse of energy. There is nothing that we cannot do once we put our minds to it. Yeah, sure, all that has been proved time and again, but along with it comes a string attached. The same brain is easily distracted. In fact our imagination is probably the one thing that can travel faster than light. And so it is not an easy task to keep the brain occupied in the same task for an extended period of time. If the job is monotonous the task becomes more difficult and if the job is demanding and involves a lot of pressure to keep time, then you are done for.
Motivation can be thought of as the process of channeling the surplus energy of the brain towards a definite goal or purpose.
So how long can the human mind focus on the same thing? Studies have shown that the maximum attention span of an average human being is just 45 minutes. 45 minutes? So much for those meetings and discussions that lasted for three or four hours! No wonder nothing much comes out of such meetings. In all likelihood most of the audience conked out after the first 45 minutes and after that focused their attention on staying awake.
If you have a good boss or supervisor, then the task of keeping you motivated rests with them. But even then, you have the responsibility to keep yours self motivated and believe me, self motivation is the best motivation because it comes from within.

Hypnotize Yourself Into The Ghost of Christmas Future.
You will begin to realise why this exercise is called the Dickens Pattern (with reference to the ghost showing Scrooge some different futures) as you notice that the idea of this exercise is to hypnotize yourself to be aware of two very real possibilities for your future. Two distinct pathways that you could take for your life this very day.
Have a think about something that you do that you are maybe not motivated to change about yourself. Prior to running through this technique, just have a think about something that you know you need to be doing, but are not. Then with that thing in mind, follow these simple steps.
Step One: Get yourself nice and relaxed and settled. Concentrate on your breathing, engage in the moment and spend some time being still, quiet and drift inside of your own mind. Hypnotize yourself here.
Step two: Use your imagination to imagine walking down the path of your life.
Ok, I know that some of you just cried out “but I can’t visualise!” First up, if you believe you can’t then of course you can’t. Second up, just imagine these things. They do not have to be in cinema screen perfect detail. You can remember what colour what your front door is, right? You can remember what your childhood bedroom is like, right? That is your imagination doing that. You know the sound that your feet make when you walk across gravel don’t you? You can imagine it, but you are not hearing it in your ears, are you? Just imagine these things as best as you can. Failing that, pretend that you are imagining them and that will do the trick.
So, as you imagine walking along the path of your life, notice that every step forwards is a minute, an hour or a day into your future. If you look back, you will notice that your past is there; everything you have ever done or experienced is behind you.
Become aware of the temperature, the sights, the sounds and enjoy walking along the path of your life. Make it sensory rich and get comfortable with the idea. Imagine the feeling of your feet walking along the path and the sound they make. Engage with the idea of really being there.
Step Three: Imagine that a few more steps ahead there is a place where the path splits, where is goes off to the left and off to the right. Pause here for a few moments and have a think. Here, there are two different pathways, two possibilities, two ways that you could choose to go.
If you were to choose the path to the left, life is pretty much the same as it is. You carry on doing the same things, living the same way and dealing with this thing in the same way as you have been doing.
If you were choose the path to the right, the right path, there are new possibilities, achievement, freedom of mind, positive and progressive implications. Think about that as you stand at this place where the path splits. You want to make a decision and commit to one of these paths. Before you make that decision, we are going to see what each path holds for your future.
Step Four: Step out on to the path to your left. Where there is no change. Briefly imagine that you are not going to live and discover your unfulfilled dreams. Instead, you continue doing what you have in the past. What will life be like in 10 years time?
Step out, every step you take you get older, days pass, weeks pass. Notice how your body is, how your mind is, how you feel about staying on this path. Walk out into your future to the 10 year point. Walk out 10 years into your future and feel how it feels to carry on doing the same thing.
This path is just like today, with one difference: you have 10 fewer years remaining in your life. I want you to think about how you will feel in 10 years if you continue doing the exact same things you have done to date. What will your daily life be like?
Really experience that. See what you see, hear what you hear, feel the feelings. Disappointment? Anger? Frustration? Failure? How does that feel? How do you affect those around you? How do they feel? Absorb every aspect of this path that you can take today if you so choose. Notice everything that you need to know about what it will be like if you carry on with the same behaviour, putting off change.
Drift back to where the path splits.
Step Five: Now take a step out on to the path to the right. This is where you create powerful, progressive change. Notice the sense of freedom in your thoughts, the sense of accomplishment and walk out 10 years into your future.
Imagine you are 10 years into the future but this time it’s different. Why? Because starting today you actually begin making changes in your life. Specific intentional changes are not easy. They are intentional because these changes are changes that you are choosing and they are the changes that will cause you to live the life you want to live and dream. They often mean leaving the perception of security in order to discover your personal freedom. These are the changes that will bring happiness and satisfaction into your life.
Just go there now. 10 years out… having made a decade of changes. Imagine living the life you want to live.
How does that feel inside? Do you feel that you have lived life? See the people of your life and how they feel about you and how they react to you. This is the path of a different choice, a different decision. You have the freedom to be how you want to be.
Absorb all you need from this moment in your future and the positive things that you can learn consciously and unconsciously and then drift and float back to the place where the path splits.
Step Six: Now that you know and have experienced the two contrasting futures. Now that you know what your future holds as a result of what you do this very day, you can make a decision. You can compare and contrast those two futures that can be yours based on a decision that you make about how you are going to live your life.
Imagine reaching deep inside you for all the strength and wisdom that you need to make this decision today. As you do so, imagine that when you choose to make that decision that deep inside your mind you are switching off the alternative path, you are switching off the opportunity to drift back to that place.
Then step out and take your future path.
Absorb yourself in the sensations, the feelings, the sights, the sounds and of course continue to engage in your future the way I have discussed in previous articles on this blog.
Step Seven: Open your eyes and begin to plan your future and take action to achieve that outcome. Your unconscious mind now knows what it is working towards.
What is the exact sequence of events that will take you to where you want to be? Have a think consciously of what you need to do. Every outcome begins with the first step. When you decide you want to have a romantic meal for two, there are many steps that you need to perform in order for that to happen. (Check the fridge, do you have what you want to serve up? No? Find keys, open garage door, drive car to the supermarket etc. etc.) You need to determine the exact sequence of events and write it down.
Begin with the outcome in mind. Write without stopping. 10 years from now, I plan to be living in a… at…. With…. Get really detailed about it. Why? Because you are hooking up the neural connections in your brain. You must improve upon, clarify and make clear just exactly who and what you are going to be doing, experiencing, living and having in 10 years. This is the first step of the process!
Key: Notice how you felt excited and optimistic when you did this? The reason is simple. It’s the life you are designing instead of the one that was given you and that you have lived with less intention and purpose to date.
This is the beginning of creating the life that you want to live. Know what the future holds for you as a result of the choice you can make today.
Have some fun and hypnotize yourself to be your very own “Ghost of Christmas future” and see what the future holds for you.

A Simple Recipe for LIfe.
There’s a party going on in my backyard. Just beyond the
goldfish pond you can hear the low hum coming from the bee
ensemble. If you step closer, you can see them dancing on the
tops of purple coneflowers dusting themselves in bright orange
pollen. They seem intoxicated by the abundance of fragrant
flowers. A vast treasure trove, I imagine, to a bee.
The butterflies gracefully pirouette onto lily tongues taking
sips of nectar juice before moving on. Soon, sun-baked fields
will yield native corn; varieties with names like Sweet
Symphony,Silver Queen and Morning Star. Big, red, globe tomatoes
kissed with summer’s sweetness will also be ready for picking
and eating.
This is abundance, right here, in my backyard. My contribution
was to set the “table” with everything that would attract “the
guests” that I wanted to invite. This took planning and
preparation. I needed to know what to feed the flowers and other
plants so they would be healthy and yield a bountiful supply of
bee, butterfly and bird food. I also had to learn the language
of winged things. I sought coaching from experts that specialize
in the areas of plants, birds, bees, butterflies and their
preferred habitats.
Since there are hundreds of varieties of plants,I knew that I
could not have them all. I was selective and chose what I wanted
in my garden based on my preferences for color, fragrance, touch
and taste. I also had to clarify my intention for my garden. Did
I want to attract bees, hummingbirds and butterflies and/or feed
my family?
Of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t prepare for what also
shows up in a beautiful garden; the uninvited beetle or pest
that creeps and clings on the edges of foliage and blossoms
devouring everything including my joy!
In these instances, it is helpful to be prepared with a few
strategies to take care of any unwanted party crashers.
Once again, with careful planning and preparation, clear
intention, clarifying my personal preferences and getting
coached by experts, I was able to transcend obstacles to achieve
a better outcome than I could have ever imagined.
There’s a party in my backyard. And now, you have my simple
recipe for creating a party in your own backyard. copyright,

Self Hypnosis Cds Help in Leading a Happier Life
All of us want to lead a happy and as much as possible anxiety free life. Yet, anxiety is a natural and necessary part of our life and in some ways can be a positive element of healthy living.
Anxiety tells us that something is wrong. It starts a physical reaction of pumping adrenalin around the body. It gets the body ready for action. In primitive times it was a defence signal that we either needed to fight or run.
In today’s society although there will be times when we still need to fight or run, anxiety can be experienced for other reasons.
Our perceptions of how the world is and how we think it should be can give use anxiety. What for one person is an anxiety provoking thought or perception, for another person the same stimulus will cause the same reaction at all.
If you accept that our perceptions, the way we think about matters, can cause us anxiety, then you might also agree that we do not necessarily have to become anxious particularly when we know another person would not have the anxiety.
So our perceptions and way of thinking about a situation can help or hinder us. If we freeze through anxiety, then it certainly will be a hindrance. If we lose sleep because of anxiety again it is not helping.
The great news is that we can change our thinking and in doing so change our perceptions. Actually that might even be the other way round. That is, in changing how we perceive matters, we think about them differently and then experience a completely different reaction to them.
How many times have you heard someone say, “oh, I didn’t think of it like that” or “I got hold of the wrong end of the stick”. Those phases are saying that now that the person has had some more information that has enabled them to change how they thought about the original situation, that they are now viewing or perceiving that same situation differently too.
So it is often our perceptions that can enable us to live happy or sad lives and the whole gamut in between.
Now our perceptions of life have developed over time and been influenced by parents, teachers, siblings, friends, colleagues and others. They are not fixed in tablets of stone and over time can change. We can also help that change too.
Hypnosis, in communicating with the subconscious mind can aid that change of perception through relaxation and positive suggestion. A good self Hypnosis Cd such as the double Lifelines recording can help perceptions and life understanding evne while you sleep at night

The Power of Laughter
“Good humor is tonic for the mind and body. It is the best antidote for anxiety and depression. It is a business asset. It attracts and keeps friends. It lightens human burdens. It is the direct route to serenity and contentment.”
-Grenville Kleiser
Laughter: The Grease That Keeps the Wheels of Our Life Running
Smoothly.
Laughter has been called “the best medicine” - and for good reason - a good dose of deep, heartfelt laughter helps pull you through some of the worst times in your life. Being able to laugh at life just makes it easier, doesn’t it?
Laughter is so good for us, both physically and emotionally. Laughter strengthens our immune system, improves our cardiovascular health, tones and relaxes our muscles, reduces depression and anxiety, boosts our productivity and creativity, and does a whole lot more good to our being.
Laughing is a great healer and I want to share with you how much. Think of Bob Hope and George Burns. They lived longer than most by using their God-given talent for humor to anchor them in their life. Laughter, a big key to our health, has a way of making problems melt away. It lets us know just how ridiculous we are. Comedians are so sought after by people because innately we know the healing effect they have on us.
Quite simply, laughing makes us feel good.
So why not En-lighten up a little?
“Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they
shall never cease to be amused.”
-Unknown
Can you laugh at yourself and at things that have happened in
your life?
A recent study found that 5-year old children laugh up to 400 times a day! In this case it’s the kids who can teach us a thing or two! So, start counting how often you laugh!
Let’s develop our own humor and laughter muscles… right now!
Are You Ready?
Here are some empowering questions to ask yourself on a daily
basis:
- How many things can I notice today that are truly funny?
- Who can I make smile right now?
- What tense situation can I look back on and laugh about?
- Whom can I call on the phone that will laugh with me?
- How many people did I made laugh today?
Make sure you laugh often today and every day.

Actions Follow Thoughts
For the umteenth time I picked up and started reading my favorite book of inspiration, “Light From Many Lamps.” Whenever I need a boost I reach for this book. When my first wife was battling cancer 25 years ago, I fell asleep every night after reading the words of inspiration by the many authors included in this book.
One author, James Lane Allen, in particular has a message especially appropriate for salespeople and entrepreneurs, so I thought I would share it with you today.
Here’s what James Allen, author of, “As A Man Thinketh” has to say about the power of your thoughts . . .
“A man is literally what he thinks, his character being a complete sum of all his thoughts.
As the plant springs from, and could not be without, the seed, so every act of a man springs from the hidden seeds of thought, and could not have appeared without them . . . act is the blossom of thought, and joy and suffering are its fruits; thus does a man garner in the sweet and bitter fruitage of his own husbandry.
A man’s mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild: but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will, bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abundance of useless weed-seeds will fall therein; and will continue to produce their kind.
Just as the gardener cultivates his plots, keeping it free from weeds, and growing the flowers and fruits which he requires, so may a man tend the garden of his mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless, and impure thoughts, and cultivating toward perfection the flowers and fruits of right, useful, and pure thoughts.
By pursuing this process, a man sooner or later discovers that he is the master-gardner of his soul, the direction of his life. He also reveals, within himself, the laws of thoughts, and understands, with ever increasing accuracy, how the thought forces operate in the shaping of his character and destiny.
Man is buffeted by circumstances so long as he believes himself to be the creature of outside conditions, but when he realizes that he is a creative power, and that he may command the hidden soil and seeds of his being out of which circumstances grow, he then becomes the rightful master of himself.
Good thoughts bear good fruit, bad thoughts bad fruit.
A man will find that as he alters his thoughts towards things and other people, things and other people will alter towards him. Let a man radically alter his thoughts, and he will be astonished at the rapid transformation it will effect in the material conditions of his life. All that any man achieves
or fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts.
Into your hands will be placed the exact results of your own thoughts; you will receive that which you earn; no more, no less. What ever your present environment may be, you will fall, remain, or rise with your thoughts, your vision, your ideal. You will become as small as you’re controlling desire; as great as your dominant aspiration!
The thoughtless, the ignorance, and the indolent, seeing only the apparent effects of things and not the things themselves, talk of luck, of fortune, and chance. Seeing a man grow rich, they say, “How lucky he is!”
They do not see the trials and failures and struggles which these men have voluntarily
encountered in order to gain their experience, have no knowledge of the sacrifices they have made, of the undaunted efforts they have put forth, of the faith they have exercised, that they might overcome the apparently insurmountable and realize the vision of their heart.
In all human affairs there are efforts, and there are results, and the strength of effort is the measure of the result. Chance is not! “Gifts,” Powers, material, intellectual, and spiritual possessions on the fruits of efforts; they are thoughts completed, objects accomplished, visions realized.
The vision that you glorify in your mind, the ideal that you enthrone in your heart - this you will build your life by. This you will become.
Keep your goal for ever in your mind . . . because as a man thinketh., so is he!”
Isn’t that some powerful stuff? I suggest you print it and save it.
Actions do follow thoughts. So think right and do it right!

Complimentary Coaching Call Blues
Have you ever had a complimentary coaching call booked and then the person doesn’t phone? Frustrating right? You may even find it disheartening. Either way, it’s something you can do without as you do your best to attract clients and build your coaching practice.
Over the past 6 years of coaching I’ve had my fair share of ‘no shows’ but thankfully they are decreasing in frequency. I used to get disheartened and still find it frustrating whenever it happens. However, I realize it comes with the territory. Some phone and some don’t.
I recently had my first ‘no show’ this year and, as always, I looked back to see what I could learn from the process and how to avoid a similar situation occurring in the future.
I had followed my pre-qualification process before scheduling the call - namely:
1. Ask the client for more details - After receiving the e-mail enquiry, I contacted the potential client via e-mail to request further details about their current situation and the type of assistance they were looking for. (Lots of detail came back - a good sign of serious intent).
Note - This step is a great pre-qualifier. Some people will never get back to you - so how serious were they in the first place? If you had scheduled a call straight off the bat without pre-qualifying, you would have both been wasting your time.
So, please don’t rush into scheduling complimentary calls willy-nilly with anyone and everyone. Make sure that you qualify people sufficiently well up front and then you’ll be focusing your efforts on the people who have the greatest chance of becoming clients in your coaching practice.
2. Confirm the time of the call - I contacted the prospective client to confirm the time and date for the call together with the number to dial etc.
This ensures that people have the details required to give them the best chance of making the call.
Do you have a pre-qualification process too? If not, consider implementing one as it will avoid a lot of unnecessary frustration in the future years of your coaching practice.
However, despite passing the pre-qualification process above the person didn’t phone. But why and what do you do next?
I always politely assume that I’ve got things wrong at my end and then e-mail the prospective client to check when they thought they had a session booked. My e-mail runs along the lines of:
Hi Mr Bloggs,
According to my diary we had a complimentary consultation booked for today at 12noon. Was this your understanding also?
Best wishes,
Shaun
I then wait to see if there’s a response and particularly a misunderstanding. Depending upon the nature of the reply (if any), I may reschedule. Sometimes things get in the way such as forgetfulness or more pressing matters.
You may find that some people are just not sufficiently interested to even bother to get back to you afterwards - let alone take you on as their coach. It’s time to move on to other prospective clients who are more deserving of your time, attention and skills.

Planting Seeds of Action
Recently, I was driving past a local nursery and saw a sign that said, “Fall Is For Planting.” As I drove, the idea on the sign was gnawing away at me. I asked myself, “what am I planting for fall?” What actions will I take now that will, with some love and nurturing, bring me a splendid and bountiful winter harvest?
What about you? What are you going to plant this fall? Will you lovingly plant exciting new seeds of action that will sprout into a new and more interesting lifestyle or will you, as James Allen says in As A Man Thinketh, let weeds grow by themselves?
As we enter this beautiful time of year, why not devote some time and energy to planning what you want to harvest in the winter months ahead. What can you do now, that will result in a bountiful harvest for you and your loved one’s?
The actions you take today will create the kind of life you will have tomorrow. Remember the simple idea that, if you continue to take the same actions, you will continue to produce the same results. If you want new and different results, you must take new and different actions.
Are you facing health challenges? Maybe now is the ideal time to begin a healthier food program and exercise regimen. If you start now, by Christmas, you will look and feel great. Imagine entering the new year without having to make a resolution to go on a diet! Imagine sitting at a Thanksgiving dinner table and not feeling guilty about overeating because you’ve already taken good care of your health. You may even decide to allow yourself a guilt free feast because you’ve earned it.
Maybe it’s time to start that business you’ve been thinking about. Begin now! Start taking the actions that will bring you toward your goals. Are you, like millions of others, interested in network marketing? Do your homework now. Investigate the companies that appeal to your tastes. Be sure to check your facts. There is a lot of hype in that industry. Investigate the company thoroughly before you sign. Then, go out and make it happen.
Is this the time to begin planting new seeds of love in your relationships? What can you do now that will strengthen your bond with your soul mate in the months to come? What can you do now, that will blossom into a closer relationship with your children?
Take some time now to think about what seeds of action you can plant this fall to insure a beautiful, bountiful and exciting winter harvest.

Three Super-Fast, No-Equipment-Required, Frequency-Raising Techniques
The key to feeling better and being more spiritually attuned is always to raise your frequency. Here are some instant frequency boosters that will have you flying high in no time!
Palm-Rub Sevens
Place your palms together and rub back and forth, seven rubs. Once you are used to what seven rubs feels like, speed up your rubbing so that one set of seven takes only a second or two. Pay attention to the sensations in other parts of your body while doing thistingles! Do multiple sets of this whenever you feel the need to rev up your frequency. Seven sets of seven really works spectacularly!
Infinity Bridge
Close your eyes and imagine that there is an infinity symbol (a horizontal figure
bridging your left and right brain hemispheres, with one loop on each side and the crossover point in the center where the corpus callosum would be. See the symbol lit up with energy, and see this energy using the symbol as a kind of track. Run the energy along the lines of the symbol rapidly, as many times as feels right to you. Your eyes will probably want to sweep along with the energy as it goes around and around. Remember to breathe!
Quick Mini-Meditation
With your eyes closed, face forward, roll your eyes downward toward your chin and hold (unless you do regular eye exercises, you will feel a mild strain). Gradually roll them upward (should take about 10 seconds), stopping when they are pointing toward your 3rd Eye (center of your forehead). This, too, will cause a mild, and not unpleasant, strain. Hold for 10 seconds, and release eyes to relaxed position. You will be a little spacey immediately after doing this, so it’s probably not wise do it at a stoplight when you’re driving!
And always, always stay super-well hydrated. You are an electromagnetic entity and being hydrated is necessary for attainment of higher frequency and the health, joy, and fulfillment it offers.

A Fear And Phobia Of The Future
My name is Steve Hill from England. In this article I am going to explain about how I have managed to turn my life around from one which was constantly living in fear, to one where I now look forward to the future. I hope this proves to be interesting and beneficial to anyone who reads it.
I was always the type of person who would be constantly worrying about many different aspects of life and who was seemingly always stressed. I could not find a way to break through from this vicious cycle and at many a time I wondered whether it was worth living at all. I have to admit that on many occasions I have gone to bed hoping that I would die in my sleep and therefore would not wake up.
I am virtually sure that I am not the only one who lives life in this way. What I decided to do was to try to work out what exactly was causing my anxiety and stress.
It was about being honest with myself. There have been many a night where I have been unable to get to sleep all night, basically I had too many worries circling through my mind. This meant that I could not relax and therefore could not sleep.
By thinking clearly, I realised that I had a fear of the future. I am someone who talks to myself quite a lot, a bit strange I know. I would often be asking myself a number of questions:
What will happen if I lose my job?
How will I cope if my girlfriend leaves me?
I have a wedding to attend next week, what if I make a fool of myself in front of my friends and family?
I am going on holiday in three months time, how will I cope if there are any problems with the plane etc?
How am I going to afford to buy my first house?
How will I cope when my parents die?
These are just a few of many questions that I used to ask myself.
I decided to discuss the way I was living my life and my fears to my parents. They gave me some superb advice. They stated that life is too short to be constantly living in fear and that worrying only makes things worse. I basically had to try my best every day and that is all anybody could expect from me. They told me to think in a more positive way and to concentrate on all of the good things that I had in my life. There will no doubt be challenges ahead but you need to deal with them when they arise.
I have taken on board there advice even though it has not been easy. My life is now so much better and when a fear comes into my head I just bat it away.
